How do we get on a "shuttle" or tour bus from Montego Bay to Negril if we aren't actually part of a vacation tour package? If we don't want to take a taxi, but rather ride on a bus with others. Can we pre-arrange that before we leave america w/ a company or do we just hope there is a bus at the airport that has room for us? Please advise. We are going in april. Thank you.

Have you booked a hotel yet? You might want to talk to someone at your hotel (or email will work too) and they will probably be able to arrange for something for you. When we stayed at Negril we didn't stay at a large resort but our little hotel actually arranged for a cab for us free of charge. Larger hotels probably arrange for vans to pick up multiple guests since this is a common issue for travelers to Negril. Good luck!

There is a tour company called Juta Tours. You can book your tranfer online for approx. $20.00 USD.
A private taxi now will cost you about $70.00 USD, and you can pick one when you arrive, or you can call "the Wizard of Oz" tour company at 876 359 4184 and check his website at http://home.cogeco.ca/~thewizardofoz/TheWizard/index.html
There are many tour companies that will offer you excellent services. And if there are 3 of you, I would recomend taking a private ride with a Tour company, or with a taxi you can get at the airport on arrival. Do not worry, there are many busses and taxi's. And with 3 people, it is almost the same price for a private ride as there would be for a bus that makes multiple stops.
