Tagum Travel Forum

Given the location of Tagum and the presents of persons associated with Abu Sayyaf organization and that I am American, never mind that I'm Muslim. What is the security situation? What are the odds of me either geing killed or kidnapped if I visit there. My GF want to marry there, but im told it isn''t safe for even one day. What is the truth, can some one tell me? Im told abu sayyaf don't care if your muslim or not if you are american your head is at risk.;

Apparently, MEasterners are alright. Are you looking for a fight? Don't go. It's sweet that you want to get married there, but if you go w/ that attitude, something's gonna happen. Look, go in as a Foreigner, accept the Culture, do what you need to do. Chill OUT!

Hmmm...Jeff is right! You really don't know exactly what and where Tagum is! I'm from Davao City a 2 hr drive from Tagum. Its way too far from Abu Sayaaf which is in Zamboanga and if you're not looking for a fight or any troubles then I think there will be no problem as you're going there to get married! Enjoy the time and you should try to accept what your future wifes place is! And btw, ask your gf about it..I'm sure she knows more..more than anybody else as she's in there or from there!

Anyhow, anybodys heads are important either who you are and where you from!
