Hi...could someone tell the best way to get to Jinan from Manila...there is no direct flight and I'm thinking of going to HK first. Is there a train or bus directly going to Jina...I think I'll be lost. What other options do I have...and I'm running out of time.

There're some budget airlines flying Manila -- Hong Kong eg Cebu Pacific (http://www.cebupacificair.com) and Jet Star Asia (http://www.jetstarasia.com). You could also fly Manila Clark -- Singapore on Tiger Airways (http://www.tigerairways.com.sg) and then Singapore -- Guangzhou/Shenzhen/Haikou which would take you directly to mainland China.
If you fly to Hong Kong, cross the border to Guangzhou by train/bus/ferry and fly Spring Airlines (http://www.china-sss.com) Guangzhou -- Shanghai then Shanghai -- Jinan. Of course if you've flown to Guangzhou to start with, then you won't need to cross the border in order to fly. Or if you find a good discount on a normal airline ticket, you could fly directly Guangzhou -- Jinan.

a) Manila -- Hong Kong -- Guangzhou -- Shanghai -- Jinan
b) Manila Clark -- Singapore -- Guangzhou -- Shanghai -- Jinan
