| Tehran | Tehran Hotel Booking problems...please help Posted: Fri March 9, 2007 02:02 AM UTC
I'm really having a difficulty with booking a hotel in Tehran. Can someone please offer me a working email address of a good mid range or gooood budget hotel (budget no more than $40/nite for a singe....$30 even better. I prefer a central location near the metro. I've sent a few emails but they either bounce or no reply. So far I sent to ATLAS HOTEL (my preference), Hotel Safir, New Naderi Hotel, Iran Sharhahr Hotel, Mashad Hotel, Shiraz Hotel. No luck with any. Thanks!

Hi peter ,
I will check some hotels that you mentioned in your e-mail tomorrow. Hope you have a good trip to Iran. Of course when you come to Tehran you see just an emty city. All people are out for new year holidays. so there is not any traffic and air pollution.

The Armenian-run old Naderi on Jomhuri street is very nice and has odd but interesting atmosphere. The cafe downstairs is legendary and one of the few liberal sanctuaries in Tehran. It was $20 a night a year ago for a single (possibly 25 I dont remember). The New Naderi is just a few blocks away on a side street, more modern and including breakfast but quite characterless for around $40 a night.
I doubt very much a recommendation is necessary at any time. I have just dropped a number of times and was always given a room.
