I wanted to take a side trip to Liberec for a day, and I wanted to go the few miles to Stary Harcov and try the Vendelin beer. I'm there in early June, is it available? What is a good way to get to Stary Harcov from Liberic? Thanks, JPoole.

By what I've read I'd say there isn't a bus that runs to the microbrewery. Liberec virtually closes down for the weekend, becoming dead quiet after midday Saturday, so perhaps weekdays are a better bet. I'd catch a taxi from Liberec and ring before I went to Vendelin (420-485-163-096).
There is a beer seller in Prague that specialises in Czech beers from the smaller microbreweries (only the beer makers that haven't sold out to large foreign conglomerates are sold there). If you're interested I'll have to search for the address, so let me know.
