Hi! Is it possible to go to the perfume pagoda without a tour guide/travel agency? I'm in a budget trip and I was hoping to save some money by just going on my own instead of hiring a travel agency.

Three years ago it was possible, there was no problem at all, and it is a very interesting visit. Not just the Pagoda, but the surrounding area!

I thinks, we can go there even without tour guide, of course, but it's will be so complicate route. Because during this time, there are many Vietnamese people trend to go to there for praying in the begin of the year...

Yes, it is possible to go there indepedently but honestly, I don't think it's worth the hassle since it cost less than $20 to to go there with a travel agency. Must comment that even though we went there in a hired vehicle, it was quite late when we returned and the roads were bad. Do watch out for the boat paddlers when you're there - they will insist on taking your photographers and they do get a little cranky when you give them insufficient tips.
