Hi there
I went to calabria in january and fell in love that me and y husband are relocating to calabria in may. As i have onl been once its hard for me to say but i would say we stayed in a beautifull hotel in rochella ionica it was amazing swimming pool and lovely grounds. Their is a marina close by there and the beaches are idylic. we have been told that in the summer their are watersports and plenty of activities on the beach. If you like history then youll be in your elimant. Tropea ive ehard is nice but neva been. Well i hope you have a fantastic time in the summer. kate

Hi, Kate! My name is MaryAnn and am new to this posting site. I just made a homepage on it. It seems we have some things in common. My husband and I have serious intentions of moving to Italy and we have been to a few of the regins we thought would be good. I thought Abruzzo was it,but we had avoided Calabria. A few people I know spoke a little unfavorably. I also am not in the best health, but love the mountains and the sea. My husband is all for this and in less than 3 years, we want to be there. I only hope the dollar does not keep going downhill. We are going to Calabria in July, but have not decided on the itinerary, the towns to sea. I also would like to view some property to see what one can buy. I would love a reply, if you have the time. Have you heard anything of Scalea? What town are you moving to? Why did you decide on that particular one? I am not one for curvy and narrow mountain roads for driving, so I need to watch that, but do not want to live in a flat region, like Puglia. I wish you the best of luck with all you are doing.
Take care, Marianna
