Hi it;s Dr. Reena here from India. I will be in Adelaide in near future to commence a course at Royal Adelaide Hospital.Initially I will be coming alone, but I want to bring my son over there who is 6 years, completed his Kindergarten and will be starting in 1st standard.unfortunately my husband won't be joining us immediately.what type of school education can I expect, is it easy to get into schools, do they have day care centres or any other type of social support system for single mothers?

education for primary school children is free. and its against the law NOT to send your child to scool until grade 8 or 9. the quality of education varies, the more you pay the better it is, but generally education is very very good.

their are many day care centres but it is sometimes difficult to get a place. sometimes you might have to wait.

i would not worry too much about it, but just be a little patient. australia's education system and child care facitities are some of the best in the world, but like in any stancly capitalist country....money can move mountains
