Get it in Iceland with debit card thru ATM. Best way to do it.

Not sure if your bank charges you and ATM fee but, if you want to avoid any possible such fees, there is a Landsbankinn branch right inside Keflavik International Airport. I've used it and, it's very convenient.

Don't see why pulling your money out of an ATM machine would be any better, your bank charges you atleast 1.5%-2.5% ontop of the ammount for making such withdrawls and their currency exchange rate might not be as "generous" as the Icelandic banks. I highly doubt you'll spend a penny more if you were to use the services of the Icelandic banks than if you were to make them atm withdrawls.

Best of luck either way

I have to reiterate my comments - yes, I agree wholeheartedly with the last post. Skip the ATM and just use the Lansbankinn branch inside the airport. I waited in line for less than five minutes and the staff at the bank were very friendly, efficient, and helpful. And... no ATM fees!
