Hi!

I'm trying to find a cheap hotel/hostel/b&b in Antwerpen in June for a quite young couple. What area would you recommend? We want to stay in a central place but we will not be out late at night. Any ideas?

I want to add that I haven't stayed at any of these places myself. They are the hotels that came up when I was searching for budget hotels myself for my visit at the end of this month.

The only thing I know that is cheaper than these are dorms in the hostels.

Does anyone know it Abhostel has a good location? It's on a street called Langstraat? http://www.abhostel.com/

It's not really in Antwerp , but In Borgerhout. (postcode 2140)
It's not the perfect location to visit the city but not that bad either. If the price is really more important then the location...why not.

Tram 11 runs trough the "provinciestraat" and will get you straight into the center of town within 10-15minutes.

There is no real borden between Antwerp and Borgerhout , one half of the street might be ntwerp and the other Borgerhout. This is the more multicultural site of town. Loads of immigrants... but quit safe and for those with an open view , a pleasant neighbourhood too.

I think it will be difficult to find cheaper accomodation than hotel Scheldezicht. Even the International Seamens' House is more expensive!
Anyway, in case you're interested, it's on Falconrui, which is close to the red light district but also close to the centre.

Thanks for all the answers. We have now booked a flight to Charleroi, and will decide later if we will go for Brussels, Antwerp, Brussels/Antwerp or some other city :-)

Hotel Biljart is pretty cheap and comfortable but not luzury:-)
its on the same square as the Central Station only 2 min walk
