Forum Question Posted By: Replies:
Oxford Oxford station
Posted: Mon March 5, 2007 03:24 PM UTC
Hello,
I need help. we are comming from London to Oxford
"Depart London Victoria, Buckingham Palace Rd
Arrive Oxford, Gloucester Green"
and we need to have 35A or 35B local bus to Didcot.
As I know first station is Oxford, High St stop J4.
My question: is it far Gloucester Green and High St? what is the best way to be from one to onother station?
Thank you!

Hi
Instead of going to the High Street for the 35a/b bus you to go to next bus stop which is in St Aldates (H2) close to the Town Hall. If you get off the bus at Gloucester Green walk to the entrance and turn left. Walk approx 300/400m which is the cross roads with Cornmarket Street, turn right. Walk approx 300/400m along Cornmarket Street, which is a strret for pedestrians. When the pedestrian area ends you should be at the junction of Cornmarket Street/High Street/St Aldates. You go straight on down St Aldates, cross over on to the pavement on the left hand side if you are not already on it. You walk down approx 100m and you should be by the bus stop. For your info some of the coaches from London actually drop passengers off in the High Street.

Gloucester Green Coach Station is at the end of George Street, close to where the arrow is located.

As Alan says, it is only a short walk. If you want to ask directions when you are there it is easiest to ask for 'Carfax', which is the crossroads where High St, St Aldates and Cornmarket meet.
