Vatican City Pope's General Audience
Posted: Sun March 4, 2007 05:55 AM UTC
How do I arrange a Pope's General Audience? Also, I have faxed in a request for the Vatican Museum but have not received an answer yet...I sent it two weeks ago. Should I re-fax it or just book another tour operator. I am just concerned because I read that tour operators can't confirm the tour...is this true? Any info on this would be appreciated. If there is one thing in Rome it would be these two things for us.

Vatican City RE: Pope's General Audience

We were in Rome two years ago and did a guided tour of the Vatican and St Peters. It was about 42 Euros each. I know this is a lot of money but it was really really worth it. When we completed the tour and came out in St Peters Square we read somewhere (the gift shop I think) that seminarians visiting Rome from the USA give free guided tours on Tuesday afternoons (they start at approx. 2 pm). The Pope has a public audience and blessing on a Tuesday or Wednesday morning? (I think it is most probably Tuesday). You don't have to book anything for this blessing, you just turn up at about 10:00 am. Have a wonderful time in Rome - it is wonderful.
