ferry from Aqaba to Nuweiba abd V/V

Does anybody if there is a ferry from Aqaba to Nuweiba and from
Nuweiba to Aqaba? does it work on summer only or also on March ?
Costs ? time tables ? any website to check ?

How do we book a trip to wadi rum, are there guides at the hotels ?
is tehre a way to book while we are already there and Not in advance ?

If you do not book a guide in advance for Wadi Rum, you are obliged to take the next guide waiting on the rota. The authorities are quite strict about this, and if somebody does take you out of turn he pays a fine.

The hotels often offer to arrange a tour: this is always a ripoff. The hotels charge you (for instance) 25JD and pass 15JD on to a Bedouin guide who gives you a 15JD tour.

If you insist on paying the guide, there's still the same system, he returns 10JD to the hotel or they won't send him anybody else. Obviously the poorer guides lend themselves to this because otherwise they will have fewer tourists.

I did not made tha trip...it was a help for my Egyptian friend whom i was
suppose to meet in Aqaba.
Would appreciate if you could share you experience so that we will know...
