Petra Travel Forum

Hi, I will be travelling in a group of 5 to Petra for 2 nights at the end of March. We need to choose between the Petra Gate and the Petra Moon Hotel. The Petra Moon is more expensive, but seems to have a better location etc. Is the Petra moon the better option here, or is Petra Gate worth the savings in money?

The Petra Moon is a far more comfortable hotel, no question.

It is also a couple of hundred meters from the entrance gate, whereas the Petra Gate is a couple of kilometers away - uphill!!!

At the end of a day walking around Petra you would appreciate this. I'm not saying that you can make up the price of the room by saving on taxi fares, but it would help.

i have been in Petra Moon before , just send them email to info@petramoonhotel.com and they will give you discount since they wrote in their website they give good discount if the people stay two nights.

Since the entrance fee for Petra is 21JD - 1 day ticket and 26JD - 2 day ticket, and since you'll be inside Petra all day, I would advise booking the lowest priced hotel.
