Antigua and Barbuda Travel Forum

Hi, just wanted to get any opinions on a honeymoon to Antigua (or Barbados) in the last week of June/beg July.

I've read that the hurricane season is June - Nov, but how likely are these to occur - i.e. is it a risk worth taking, are hurricanes more likely to be from late July/Aug/ Sept?

Hurricanes are less likely in the Southern Carribean islands. So you should be safe for travel to either. If you are going to Barbados, I have heard alot about this resort: http://www.thecrane.com/ I was planning a trip there, but decided on Mexico instead.

It is very hard to say with any certainty how likely hurricanes would be during those times, however as liquifly73 said chance it less in the Southern Caribbean. At the least there might be the occasion tropical storm or some heavy rain (in between all of the sun!). The hotels might be able to advise you which months would be better.

Go to Antigua ! Barbados is good, but for me, I liked Antigua. Hurricane typical begin mid July to end of September. Typical. I think Antigua has not had major hurricane often.
