hi we are visiting reykavik in late september, we are hopeing to see the northern lights and the other sights mainly volcanos, can anyone advise day trip operators, thst will pick up from hotel reyjavik, also i am vegatarian do most of the resterants serve a veggi alternative, ive looked on websites and the menus are mainly fish and lamb or beef. im really excited about visiting iceland its a place ive always wanted to go, so as much imformation as possible would be usefull, thanks. jackie

Here are a couple of vegetarian restuarants in Reykjavik:

www.madurlifandi.is (This shop/restaurant is in 105 Reykjavik - so, not in the downtown core but, you should be able to walk it or take a bus). Unfortunately, their website is in Icelandic only.

www.anaestugrosum.is/efni.asp?n=48 w.This website is in English and, the restaurant is smack dab in the middle of 101 Reykjavik - perfect location.

In August 2005 we used Activity group for one day tour including "golden circle" and some activities. The tour car was a super jeep which was nicer than big bus. Our guide was very nice and we heard lot about Iceland in general + all info about the sights of course.
