BsAs is easy to visit, if you take a hotel in the city centre you can generally walk to the main attractions and when you are tired you can easily take a taxi that, for my experience dated back to 2003-4, are cheap and generally safe (but at night you may want to have the hotel/restaurant/club calling one for you rather then stopping one passing in the street). You cannot miss the city main attrations such as Calle Caminito (the street with the painted houses) in La Boca, San Telmo (the neighbourhood of tango), Plaza de Mayo with la Casa Rosada, Calle Florida, Avenida 9 de Julio and La Recoleta. You don't need much of a planning though, since it is a quite a usual itinerary that you can comfortably do in three days. I would recommend:

- The Sunday market in Plaza Dorrego in San Telmo.
- A walk in the late afternoon and dinner at the Recoleta.
- Hangout to the trendy clubs in Palermo.
- A tango show (I have been twice to this place and I was both times delighted (www.esquinacarlosgardel.com.ar)).
- I did and it was worth it, you will need two full days, but take a flight and go to the Iguazu Falls at the border with Brazil and Paraguay. It will add extra charge on your budget, but they are just amazing.

Don't know if you have already did take a look at the Buenos Aires pages here on VT. You will get '1000' ideas for trips and tours in and around Bs As.
Another great website is http://www.bue.gov.ar/home/, the site of the official Tourist Information Centre of the city.

Some more or less off the beaten path tips:
- Tigre Delta
- Colonia in Uruguay
- Feria de Mataderos in Bs As.

happy travels to/in this amazing city
