In August/September. 10 days on each island using public transport, is this rushing around? The islands seem to have lots to offer but is there enough for 3 weeks?
p.s. do they stone "regular" tourists or is it just the tourists who go in cars and seem to snub locals by not interacting?

samoa is beautifull. Everyone is lovely I have never heard of anything like this.

There have been some accounts of "stoning" but I have never experienced this. It sounds to me as if you have hit it bang on... The fast car drivers and arrogant, disrespectful tourist tend to be victims of this.

I've been on Samoa also for 3 weeks and loved it. Its so beautifull there !

Using public transportation is OK to go from point A to B but not if you also want to do lots of sightseeing, then you will have to rent a car. And its worth it to rent a car there ! Its so beautifull driving around and sightseeing ! And the islands are not big so driving is easy.

I've never been "stoned" on Samoa. The people living on Samoa are by far the most friendly people I have ever met in my live !!

Only be aware of stray dogs wandering around Apia the maintown at night, always take a cab at night (its cheap).

Please read a little bit about the culture and their habits before you go to Samoa, it will be of a big help if you know a little bit whats appropriate to do and what not, what can offend somebody and what not ! They value their chiefsystem a lot !
