| Fes | Medina or New City Posted: Sat February 17, 2007 07:47 PM UTC
Coming to Fez at beginning of May! Dont know about massive amount about Fez, presumably it is safe to wander around anywhere and is pretty westernised?? Looking at hotels and would like to know if should stay in the Medina or in the new city? Going to stay for 3 days and probably stay around pool in day and then go for a wander around and go to local restaurants rather than 5* one's
Thanks |

I stayed in the Fes Medina. It's much more interesting and 'traditional' than the modern city that surrounds it. The city is safe and very "westernized".

Thanks for that have now booked into Royal Mirage
2 Questions having booked it appears that there are no bars or nightlife whatsoever in fes or men only places. Also just wandering around what is suitable attire for woman? Are skirts / bare arms exceptable or would this only be acceptable around the hotel bar Thanks again

They're used to the way 'foreigners' dress there, just don't wear anything too revealing like a sleeveless tank top or halter top, or short-shorts. The more conservative your dress the less-likely you'll be to draw attention to yourself.
