Hi, just wanted some advice, i arrive in Xian on the 23rd Feb at about 9.30am and am stayin for one night. I was just wondering whether or not i can go and see the warriors straight from the sirport. What would be the best way to go, is there a bus/coach that goes there straight from the airport or if i took a taxi how much should i pay to get to the warriors and how long would it take.

Also are there taxi's available to go to xian city from the warriors, i am staying in The Bell Tower Hotel, again about how much would such a taxi cost?

The Terracotta Warriors are relatively close to the airport, both of which are a fair distance north-west of the main city.

A taxi from the airport to the memorial would take ~10 minutes. I did not take taxis very often because I opted more for public buses, but would say that you should not pay more than 45RMB (only a guess).

From the memorial back to the center of town is 45 minutes. You could negotiate a taxi, but would be expensive. Otherwise you can get on the Green Bus which will take you back to the Bell Tower.

Or you can take public bus 306 which will take you back near the train station. From there, a quick taxi would be enough to get you to your hotel, maybe 30RMB.

Why don't you ring the Bell Hotel(we stayed there -go to my page) and see if you can organise a guide and driver to pick you up at the airport and then drive to the warriors and other sites nearby before you get to the hotel. We organised a guide and driver through the hotel - again see my page for prices etc.
