Am planning to get to Yogya & Borobudur for Wesak this year & am having problems finding out actual dates. Some people say May 2 (full moon), others that the actual holiday is June 1.

Is anyone able to give me the date of the Wesak ceremony at Borobudur on the actual day of the Buddha's Birth, Death & Enlightenment day?

Vesak Day is celebrated on 31st May in Singapore, if that is any help mate....

According to the formal holiday calender in Indonesia, Vesak day is on 1 June 2007, but I am not sure when the Vesak ceremony will be at Borobudur temple.

According to some information, the Vesak ceremony in 2006 took place at Borobudur and Mendut temples starting on 5 May until 15 May 2006.

As my friends and I also want to see Waisak in Borobudur, one of my friends - a buddhist who wants to pray in Borobudur - checked the date to Sangha Agung Indonesia (Indonesia Buddhists Society). We got official notes that even though Buddhists in Indonesia acknowledge that Waisak is on May 2, 2007, but the Grand Ceremony for Indonesian Buddhists in Borobudur still takes place on June 1, 2007.

So, the Waisak Grand Ceremony in BOrobudur is on June 1, 2007
