Exchange some of your Canadian dollars at the airport while you are waiting for your luggage.
You cannot use Canadian dollars to buy goods or services in Cuba.
Do not tip in foreign currency.

Departure tax is payable in CUC (Cuban Convertibles) only.
Cost 25CUC = 31.46CDN (today approx.)

1 EUR= 1.17...I suggest you bring this currency up to exchange.
1 USD= 0.82...don't bring this, you'll lose a lot 'cause and 18% tax over this currency in my little island.
In Cuba, you'll use CUC(Pesos Convertibles) mostly, you will also use Pesos Cubanos.
1 CUC= 24 Pesos Cubanos...both are cuban currency, sounds a little bit crazy, LOL. The most important, CUC is the strong one, donīt change on streets(just do it in Banks or Casas de Cambio) until you can recognize one of each other.
The pay at Airport is 25 CUC.
See you.

If you have CDN, then use it to exchange. It is a popular country for Canadian vacationers, so it is not a problem at the money exchange. Definitely do not bring USD as the rate is very bad.
