Is there a recommended or preferred way to travel from Puerto Montt to Bariloche?

You can fly from Bariloche to Bs As. Check the websites from Aerolineas Argentinas (www.aerolineas.com) and LAN (www.lan.com).

You can go by bus from Puerto Montt to Bariloche (BusNorte, Andesmar/Taschoapa, etc) and it should take you about 8 hours. It should cost about $20 dollars one way. The other option is to do the lakes crossing, which is very beautiful but costs about $170 dollars one way.
