This summer my family is going on a Disney cruise to Nassau. One of the "excursions" you can take is a trip to Atlantis. You get a ride over to Atlantis and access to the beach at Atlantis but not the slides or pools. This cost about $65.00. My sister told me that when she and her husband were in Nassau last year they had stayed at the Comfort Inn and they were given a bracelet to wear that got them into Atlantis and they were able to go to the beach and run around. She said she thinks they only paid $13.00 to go from town to Atlantis by taxie. So I have a few questions??? Is it cheaper to take a taxie over the bridge to Atlantis and once there can I just go in and go to the beach or do I need to pay to have use of the beach?? I noticed someone wrote in and said they snuck in to the beach.

Next door to Atlantis is the Riu Paradise Island. To the right of the hotel is a pathway that the locals use to walk onto the beach. Since all beaches in the Bahamas are public you can walk onto the beach there without any problems. However you will not be able to get up from the beach onto Atlantis property. They have security posted at all entrances up to the grounds. So make sure you have cold drinks etc. I have even seen security make people get off lounge chairs because they weren't wearing Atlantis bracelets. Any other questions don't hesitate to ask. Carolyn

I'm not certain about cheapest but the ferries are an option. They are the Prince George Wharf or the cruise ship dock. It costs about $3.00 per person each way. The ferry will take you from the dock to the base of the Paradise Entrance Bridge. From their you can walk to a beach access point. The ferries only run from about 9am to around 5pm. The taxi is definately the most direct and fastest but ask them first about the costs since it could vary.

There is a road next to the Rui that you can access the beach but unfortunalty the beach is very crowded. I would suggest you google HIgh Seas"private Excursions" and see if they can help if you are lookng for beach access
