Whats the best place to rent a big car to drive from the airport and then drop off the car in Waikiki near Lewers st. I will need a car big enough for 5 + all the luggage.

Get a limo at the airport. It will be MUCH easier and cheaper and faster

I agree get a van or limo. Traffic is awful and the streets down near Lewers are narrow and not real clear. It is not a very far distance, but can take you some time depending on the traffic and time of the day. Save the headache and have somebody else drive.

Don't rent from Enterprise!!! They don't have a lot of choices! Plus you have to take the courtesy van to get to their parking lot. They don't have an office at the airport!!! For more information, check my tourist trap on my Hawaiian page...

I am not sure anybody has a pick up location at the airport. Most of them take you off site to get your car. I rent a lot with Enterprise and they have always treated me very well. However, it seems the different companies have a different presence depending on location. Enterprise does seem to be lacking on the islands where Avis, Dollar, and Budget seem to be very big.

I would suggest whom ever you rent from join their frequent flyer program so you can use their express check in. The last time we rented in Ohau I stood in line at Avis for almost 45 minutes trying to get my car. People with express check in where in and out in just a few minutes.
