hi,
need your advise. we are 2A + 2Child ( below 4yrs old). thinking of going to tioman to enjoy doing nothing and the clear blue sea for a couple of nights. need your advise on whether the island and the resort is suitable for us to bring our young kids to. we need a safe boat to get us there, clean rooms family chalets with attached hot showers. what is your experience?? thanks in advance. kktan88@gmail.com |

Tioman is a great Island and the hamlet of (Air Batang also known as ABC) is one of the most beautiful settings I have seen in my life. And as a travel photographer I have seen many!
You can fly directly from KL or singapore with Berjaya Air. Think the fly twice daily. I really want to go back there! As for families with kids. Its Safe and there is a small sandy beach. there are chalets with aircon and clean bathrooms. We stayed at the end of ABC (turn left from the the dock. there i one bar (under the coconut tree) and three or four families renting out cabins. this is one of them http://www.geocities.com/bamboosu/ (didn't stay there but they were the most beautiful and best situated!) You will have to enjoy yourself and your kids because there is not a lot of action. it mainly is a place to relax, snorkel and dive. The kids will probably find friends among the local kids that are constantly playing soccer. I am not sure if I am allowed links in this forum, but here it is and check out my pix of ABC and Tioman. Hi..This is not right time to go to Tioman island due to monsoon especially with Kids..Ideal will be from Mid march to October depend upon monsoon..
Speed boats service will be stopped during this season and slow boats will operate depends upon on day to day tide conditions..Once i went during monsoon season & it was fully deserted and slow boat itself was cancelled.. I took Charted flight from KL to Tekek village ( Tioman) but from tekek its very risky to go to other villages by ferry even though some ferry operators are ready to take u there..During these season all the Chalet operators will do thier renovations for the next season....
