Hi,

Please could anyone tell me the quickest way to get from Cochin to Hampi? Also if possible the quickest route from Hampi to Chennai. We want to get to Hampi but only have 5 days to spare. Thanks

The fastest way would be to catch a flight from Cochin to Bangalore to Hubli.
Air Deccan Operates in this sector and there is a morning flight from Cochin to Bangalore and connecting flight from there to Hubli.

From Hubli you can travel to Hospet by train and Hampi is only 13 Kms from Hospet.

I am just giving railway timing options:
Train No Dep Ernakulam Arr Madgaon Remarks
1098 2330 1550 Mondays only
2617 1245 0315 Daily
6334 2000 1045 Mondays only
6346 1415 0550 Daily

Train No Dep Madgaon Arr Hospet Remarks
2848 0815 1408 Mon, Thur, Fri and Sundays only

Now-a-days no train starts or ends at cochin, hence one has to board the train at Ernakulam jn or road. YOu may kindly enquire before hand which train starts from which station. Also you may catch a bus from Madgaon to Hospet which takes the same time as of train. The frequency between Madgaon and Hospet is less, hence it is better you catch a bus for Hubli and from hubli change over to another bus.

It is better to stay at Hospet and do sight seeing of Humpi and Tungabhadra dam.

With warm wishes for a happy and safe journey
