| Hyderabad | Photography, clubs/pubs rules, nearby places to visit Posted: Sat February 10, 2007 10:45 AM UTC
I have been in Hyd for more than couple of months.
- I like photography. Is photography allowed in or outside of some places? I'd like to take some pictures (at night time) of Golconda Fort and Birla Mandir for example. I've seen that they are beautiful at night. - I want to go to clubs/pubs. However from advertisement I saw on newspaper or somewhere, they allow only couples. Will they allow me (alone) in? Is it common to ask girls outside of those places (if exist) to accompany? Or maybe 2-4 men (office colleagues)? - What are recommended & popular places nearby Hyd I can visit, say for a day trip or on weekend? Maybe some kind of resorts, beautiful hills, fishing on lakes, forest, etc. |

Hi again,
Remember me..Vishnu here... I answered several of your questions when you just reached Hyderabad. I think i ahve a chance again. Even i Love photography. Yeah you can take photographs at Birla mandir except in the shrine you can even take phtographs at Golconda where you got to pay a fees for carrying a camera in. In Most of the public places in Hyderabad Camera is allowed but beware b4 you try to take a snap of any pretty lady without permission ..it me cost you a lot. Club rules are strict at Hyderabad. You are allowed only if you are accompanied by a female. atleast till you get familiar. I tried myself to enter with a male friend of mine but in vain. Even i feel like going to pubs ? but what to do i too ahve the same prob as you have. But it can be worked out ..you can make a call to the pub & ask directly for reservation i think that will work out..i did not try..but atleast they may give a suggestion..try doing that ..if possible buzz me i would love to acoompany you ( if you d love too). Best choice is Bottels & chimnesy at begumpet. No..it is not common to ask ladies outside the pub..dont ever try that or either you will end up landing in jail or you will end up with a prostitute who will rob u all. 2 or more office collgues .. a party ..may be it will work out if you talk to the guys at the pub on phone priorly.. pls do mention to me if it works out so that i will also try the same way... places to visit a day's trip : Pragathi resorts. Lahari resorts (this is near to place where I live) Ramoji film city ( one day is not enough to see this place but is highly recommended ) there is one Vikarabad forest nearby but you cant go theer alone without local friends. No fishing places around. catch you soon luv vishnu

Hi Vishnu,
Yes, I remember you. You were and are always very helpful. Thanks. That weekend we went to top of Birla Mandir. Yes, my camera was held, so I could only take pictures from outside. I "stole" one pic of the tower though using my mobile (which fortunately were not held). I wasn't trying to be respectless, but I wanted to post (later) in VT so everyone can see and visit. Later in that evening, I took also my best photo (and the angle is rarely seen) using tripod. It was taken from an open field in front of a high school building, until the security guard came and throw us out ;) I'll post this in VT later. I would love to go together, but since you said that men alone can't go inside so I doubt. BTW, you are a man, aren't you? ;) Let's see next time if we could "reserve" or something. Do I need to dress a nice suit to be allowed inside? ;) We're starting to get bored. We just go to mall/store, book store, and restaurant. I guess we need to go out of town to those places suggested by you. My friend said Ramoji Film City is nice, but I guess we need to go early and spend the whole day there. Catch you up later. And thanks again for the infos.
