HEY!
Me and some of my girlfriends are going to Limerick for 10 days and the FREE place we had to stay at fell through! I can't seem to find any hostels in Limerick that will allow me to book online! I also heard the hostels in Limerick were dangerous. Any suggestions on somewhere very cheap to stay? Will they allow me to book them when I get there? Are B&Bs cheaper? We leave in 3 wks-HELP!

Hi!
I don't think there is actually any youth hostels here, but guest houses and B&Bs aere fairly reasonable this time of year. Especially since it's low season. Here's a link: http://www.travellerspoint.com/budget-accommodation-en-ci-691.html

I haven't been there since 1988 but then we got chucked out of the hostel as my friend got sick...Nice one! Just when you NEED a bed. In a strange town. I had to run around and find us a B&B and then get back and "transfer" her into a new bed. This was with a lovely old lady near the railway station.

So my thoughts on Limerick aren't the most positive.

Dangerous hostel?? What idiot told you that?

Limerick city centre is no more dangerous than any other city.

You'll find plenty of B&Bs on the Ennis road, Raheen and in the University district.

Care to elaborate on that, Frank? Did you have a bad experience there?

Don't go around saying stuff like that unless you can back it up.

What is the point in slagging the city off, that is not going to help Nicole find a place to stay. What is the point of posting in travel unless you've something constructive to say?

Orla

PS - Seriously, you obviously have plenty of ideas and tips so why not enter them into your (currently blank) pages? :) BTW - my Liverpool page is quite old, I can't keep going back to every place I have been to just to keep my VT pages up to date, if only I could :)
