any backpacker ghetto in jakarta like khao san of bangkok where i can find cheap rooms?

you should try staying around Jalan Jaksa. but I think it is flooded now.

Jalan Jaksa is indeed the closest thing to Khao San Rd in Jakarta, but it's nowhere near the same.
It used to be like that in the 90es, but these days very few backpackers still stay there, many budget guesthouses have closed, and the whole area is crap.
Many people prefer staying in nearby Bogor instead - much nicer, and also has direct buses from the airport.
