RE: Swimming with Dolphins age limit Posted: Sat February 24, 2007 04:18 PM UTC
Hi there. I went to Cuba last May/June, staying at Guardalavaca with my daughter who was 6 at the time and we went swimming with the dolphins. You go on a boat to a dolphinarium in a bay. There are various large pens where the swimming takes place. First you watch the dolphin show and then in small groups of 8 you get to go off to your allocated pen and go in the water with the dolphins for about 20 minutes. Although the sea water flows freely through the pens there were no currents. My daughter wore a life vest and I wore some flotation bricks belted round my middle because I am such a feeble swimmer!! Although they are captive dolphins it is still a marvelous experience and my daughter says its the best thing she has ever done in her life!! Bless.
Hope that helps.
