Hi,
I'm taking a day trip to Brighton (from London) in March. Please tell me what can I see in 6 hours (besides the Pavillon). Could you also recommend me some good and inexpensive places to eat. Thanks! Sunny weekend greetings from Ljubljana, Ursa |

Hiya,
most visitors take a walk along the famous Brighton pier and see the amusements! There are also The Laines - lots of interesting little boutique type shops selling all kinds of unusual things from clothes and shoes to toys, jewellery, accessories etc etc. As for good places to eat there are a few recommendations on my Brighton page - but Fat Leos - an Italian place, (also in the Laines) is great for good food on a budget. Have fun!

If it's sunny and the wind is in the right direction, the seafront is the place to be. It used to be really boring, but no longer. Restaurants, bars etc. Also lots of squares and outside bars in The Lanes - near Pavilion. The North Laines (north of The Lanes) have lots of little and different bars, cafes, shops etc if it's wet - or dry, but in 6 hours you can't do too much.
Enjoy Alvernia

Hi,
Just a little note to add to your other replies... March is known for it's windy days in this country. If it is one of those days it's worth spending a few minutes on the seafront just watch the sea and feel the energy of the waves battering the beach! After that take shelter in one of the many coffee shops in the Laines!!! Have fun! Paul

What a nice piece of advice! I hope to catch some sunrays and yees, feel the energy of the waves, and of the place itself. Thanks, Paul!

the laines, the pier, the seafront.
For food try Piccolo in Union Street. It is a nice cheap Italian restaurant

Thanks! I'll try it next time. Brighton really is wonderful and I was lucky to see it on a beautiful sunny day! The sound of waves and seagulls accompanied me on my stroll along the beach...
