Moscow summer gathering
Posted: Fri August 1, 2003 01:13 PM UTC
Any of the local Moscow members (or any others that happen to be moving through) interested in getting together one day in the next couple of weekends for a daytime outdoor meeting? Take advantage of the good weather while we have it!

The weekend of the 16-17 sounds great to me. Maybe we should send some emails to some of the newer Moscow members?

Did you decide something? I mean where and when... Yaroslavl and Uglich... isn't it too far?

I am at last back from vacation and endless business trips and open for your ideas...

What about Rostov the Great? The same direction but only 3 hours from Moscow? North direction is preferable as we will go from dacha (if we will... I have not discussed it yes with my family).

But you know, I always prefer to go by car ;-)))

Any of the above mentioned places would be fine for us. I now Elena is interested in Uglich as well, however we aren't tied to that idea. From Andrew's perspective he may have to stop for a couple of bathroom breaks, but he will survive, and probably enjoy, the ride. I, unfortunatly do not know any hotels though. I may be able to suggest a couple from my stuff at home though.

Moscow Re: Does anyone know any modest hotels in either?

I know one... it was on my Rostov page in past life.... ;-)

"Na pogrebah" - only 17 rooms but inside (!!!) Rostov kremlin. Unforgetable exotic!

Rooms are cheap, but only 2 of 17 have individual facilities. Last time we have a room with shower and toilet "na etazhe" and that was not a big problem.

Well, since it is only the three of us on the list at the moment I guess I am "anyone else" and it sounds alright to me.... :)

- Any other ideas?

Moscow Hotel "Pleshanov Estate".

Hotel "Pleshanov Estate".
http://www.hotel.v-rostove.ru/rooms_e.php

Only 3 rooms left for today (1 in garret and two semi-lux). Look for prices on russian page - it is more precise. Booking in advance +20% !

Needs your decision.

Are those the prices per person or per room? If it is per person it would mean that a room in the "lux" would be about 4500 for me and my family, which is no longer a cheap trip. Also, it says the prices are 20% higher on weekends, so if we prebook for a weekend, does that mean prices are 40% higher??

of course for room (for person see english page - 700 r.)

1440 + 20%(booking) + 100 (child<12) = 1828 rubles

I have an other idea - I think I will go on Friday... There are free rooms in "Dom na Pogrebakh"...

I am in anyway... Let's see how expensive it could be (it is sooooo important for me now because you know, i am back from my vocation). Anyway, it would be perfect to spend weekend somewhere... Phone me because i am not online everyday day now like always... :-)
