Can anyone give me an opinion of this resort on Thansadet beach?
I have found they have a family room and am struggling to find another resort on a peaceful beach with the same.
Any suggestions.
We are a family with small children - don't wan't to do "battle" with too many party goers (makes me jealous!!)
Thanks for any opinions
Brett

hi, i have seen the bungalows at mai pen rai and i guess it depends upon how old the kids are i think the family room is up on the rocks and if the kids are in arms well it would be difficult, the bungalows on the beach are very basic but directly on the beach ideal for kids in my opinion playing in the sand while you are chilling on ya little balcony lol maybe 2 beach bungalows might work for ya but like i said i dont know how old the kids are, thansadet is all on its own so no nightlife but a little restaurant ideal for food and chilling, actually thansadet is all about chilling, its a long taxi ride to haad rin beach, there is a waterfall close to thansadet thats worth the effort to get to, the last time i was at thansadet a huge monitor lizard ambled along the beach and disappeared under the bungalows i thought it was great, hope this helps les

Thanks Les.
I was wondering how much of a hike the family room would be - the pics on the web site do not give a clear indication nor does he response i get from my email question. The pics do show that it looks like an awesome room with the boulders built into the bathroom. They say they were renovated end 06.

Originally, I was after accom at Thong Nai Pan but haven't yet tracked down a family room or connecting room. Do you know of any??
Also the rpice of the room at Mai Pen rai is on 500baht - now thats a bargain for 5 of us!!
I don't need any nightlife so chilling is excatly what I want.
You have many entries on your home page about the area so I am hoping you can offer further help, just want a place on a pretty beach to chill!!
much appreciated.
Thanks
Brett

hi and yeh 500 baht is a bargain nowadays but from what i saw the bungalows aint 5 star lol, if the kids have to be watched all the time then being up on the hill is a bit iffy if any of them got into difficulties it would take 5 minutes to get to them and a fall wouldnt be too healthy either, go for it but you may want to get a beachside one as well i know we all work on a budget but by sharing costs between 5 it aint awfully expensive, i will be visiting thansadet for a day sometime in march if your trip falls later than that i could find out more for ya i arrive back home in april, les

Your a champ.
Yeah my trip isn't till end of June.
I take your point, not much relaxing going on if i'm on edge wondering if the kid are OK!!
I think I'd be better off to stick to Ao Thong Nai Pan, not as isolated.
I am having trouble finding family or connecting room there.
It's a mission but it's so worth it to find the right spot.

hi, its been a few years sinse i was on thong nay pan but from what i saw it was nice i guess there is more there now so maybe it might suit ya better at thong nay pan the beach is seperated into north and south seperated by a rocky headland where a nice hotel is situated (panviman), let me know what ya decide because i am also going to spend 1 day on thong nay pan in march, the reason is that i will have 2 friends with me who have never been to thailand so i am staying in thong sala and going to a different beach each day so they can have a good look around the island, its no problem taking some shots and e.mailing them to ya if you know which bungalows you want to go to, les
