Bhutan Is 2 days enough to see Paro and Thimpu?
Posted: Mon January 29, 2007 02:30 PM UTC
Hi friends,

I am planning a trip, crossing into bhutan from india. I know 2 days are not fair but considering the expensive cost, is it enough just to see Paro & thimpu? We will be then crossing back to India and onwards to nepal by land.

Hope to hear from you.
Many Thanks!

Hi there,

I dont know if it is possible to stay for 2 days, since they offer packages of at least 3-4 days. Besides that, 2 days might get too hectic for all the sights, even if you concentrate on the main highlights, especially if you go by land from India to Paro and Timphu.
I would suggest to take some more time.

Happy travels!

Yes,you can have a glimpse of Bhutan (Thimphu and Paro) in 2 days. Phuntsholing, a boder in south west is an overland entry and exit points. From Phuntsholing, you may drive to Kakkarvita (Nepal-India) border to catch a night bus to Nepal.

Kuzuzangpola!

If i'm not mistaken, it is mandatory to either fly in or out of Bhutan on their national carrier Druk Air? e.g. You can enter by air and leave overland or vice versa.
Is it still the case?

Thx!

hi there,

Leonik is right. You have to fly one way, using the only line Druk Air.

have fun
Gar

PS: Paro and Thimpu are not the higlights in Bhutan, so You will scratch only a little of this beautiful country.
