Ko Samet Travel Forum

Hi I am so confused, I am trying to establish which is the better islands - Ko Samet or Ko Lanta. Is July/August a good time to go to any one of these islands. Please help!!!

Koh samet , except of that part of island wheer Paradee hotel loacted, that comes with rates from 250 USD per night , I think has poor quality of beaches and from time to time overcrowded with daytrippers , so in my eayes - low value.

Koh Lanta has mcuh quiter, clenaer and nice beaches and incompraibly wider spectrum of activities, beside beach - elephant trekking, caves, a lot of earby islands to go for day trip, if you wish some night venues. And accomodations range at koh Lana is much larger adn repersent unlike Koh Samet better value for teh price.

Still to get to Koh Lanta you have to take flight to e.g. Krabi and teh appr. 2 hrs journey by car, but good things does not come easy :)Koh samet is 2 hrs drive from Bangkok and them ahlf an hour ferryt to the island.

Could you advise me if the weather is suitable in Koh Lanta in July/August?

Samet is one of the drier Island so not too much rain.
