| Santa Fe | garden setting Posted: Sun January 28, 2007 11:56 PM UTC
A bunch of friends (about 20-30) will be gathering in Santa Fe in May. We are all staying at different places but want to find someplace that is informal where we can sit and talk/eat/drink in groups for a couple of hours. I was imagining like a big backyard or garden setting. any ideas?

The picture on the right looks like a nice spot. http://laposada.rockresorts.com/info/din.asp

La Casa Sena is a bar/restaurant in an old courtyard (with big trees, flowers, etc.) about 2 blocks from the Plaza. If your group plans to meet during regular lunch or dinner hours, be sure to make reservations -- the restaurant is very popular, even in May, and they'll need to plan ahead to accommodate that many people. A number of other restaurants have outdoor patios, but I think this is the prettiest (and it's certainly the most spacious). Be aware that the weather can be unpredictable in the spring!

Second Street Brewery is farther afield, but they have a big outdoor seating area shaded by trees. It's less expensive than La Casa Sena, and their beers are very good.

La Posada in downtown Santa Fe has a nice outdoor yard/patio. It's quite upscale, but not expensive for drinks, snacks, etc. A great place for a meeting - formal or otherwise. If you fancy something a little more rugged, try Santa Fe Brewing Company on the outskirts of town - it has a nice outdoor area.
