| Bhutan | weather in August Posted: Sun January 28, 2007 10:11 PM UTC Hi, I plan to go to Bhutan in August. I know it is rainy season but I wonder if it is really heavy rain and totally cloudy or only some rainfalls. Unfortunately, I cannot go on holiday besides August. Do you recommend me to leave out Bhutan from our journey or to go there anyway. I would be in Tibet before. Is there a road between Tibet to Bhutan (direct or through Sikkim) or do I have to come back to Kathmandu to take a flight to Bhutan? Thank you, Philippe |

Yup, you will enjoy a heavy rain at least once a day, hope for a teahouse on the long uphill walk to the major monasteries at that moment to get a cover and some hot tea ;-)
Also very cloudy, but those clouds around the peaks, cliffs and valleys give this special charme like in those traditional (ahem, Chinese) kalligraphy paintings. So the weather is not too bad, dont worry! About Tibet, as far as I know there is no possibility for you to enter Tibet from Bhutan nor Sikkim. Besides that, going from Nepal all the Friendship Highway through Tibet is not the worst choice... Happy Travels!

Western and Central Bhutan (as most of the itineraries suggests) is good to tour all the year round. In Agust, you get slight downpours but its not cloudy.
There is not direct road/flight from Tibet to Bhutan. But you can travel to Bhutan from Sikkim by road.
