I will be traveling to Ashbagat ,Uzbekistan on April 21 and returning from Almaty,Turkmenistan approximatelt May 7th. Could anyone help me cheap fares from Frankfort or Rome airports?
I will fly standby to either FRA or ROM. Or is it better to justl fly from New York. Any help is appreciated. |

Actually Ashgabat is located in Turkmenistan and Almaty in Kazakhstan.
There aren't any really cheap flights to Central Asia, the cheapest returns being around 400-500 Euros from Frankfurt or Istanbul. If you book a multi-destinaton flight (i.e. arrive in Ashgabat, depart from Almaty, prices are bound to increase even more.) Just to give you an idea : I did a quick check for the dates you provided and the rpice for FRA-ASB/ALA-FRA was around 650 €(via Moscow). Going via Rome is more than double that price. I don't believe there are any direct flights from New York. Have a great trip ! George

Hiya,
Tough to get flights to Turkmenistan. The only major airline is Lufthansa. Check their website for schedule. They seem to have the best arrival times. Other airlines would be Turkish Airlines, Turkmen Airlines or Uzbekistan Air. Try the Washington embassy page for links and travelling guide.
