Depends on where you want to stay. A good location is The van der valk hotel at Assen selves (not far from the circuit) and Groningen is about 25 km ore less away from Assen!

Hotel Van der Valk is indeed a good tip.
www.vandervalkassen.nl Take care though if you make reservations that you ask for a room NOT next to the motorway as the noise seeps into the room.
