Hi all!
I'm studying abroad in Costa Rica starting this Saturday. I'll be in San José for the first 4 weeks or so. I was wondering if anyone knew whether there are pay as you go cell phones readily available for international calls? Is the service reliable? Expensive? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! |

Yes, it is quite common to have pay as you go phone there. When you land at the airport, you will walk outside and be bombarded by callers for hotel, taxi, buses and just about everything. Each taxi caller will know of where you can get a phone. There are multiple companies but the phone rental place I went to was just around the corner from the airport and the taxi driver helped us and waited until we got the phone working then took us to our destination.
