I tried reading my Lonely Planet Guide but I don't think I'm getting a clear picture: I arrive in Shenzhen on the train from Guilin in March. Once I get off the train, how do I get to my hotel (the Mayfair Garden Hotel) by the Jordan station in Hong Kong (Mong Kok, I think?)?? Do I get on another train? A boat? Walk? Subway? Can someone 'walk' me through the process? Is Customs involved? How much time between getting off the train in Shenzhen and checking into the hotel?

Luohu customs is a few steps from Shenzhen train station.
Once you get out of the station, walk south to Luohu Customs and enter Hongkong;
Then you will see KCR Fast Rail terminals bound for Kowloon,Hongkong, transfer Kwun Tong Line(Green Line)bound for Yau Ma Tei at Kowloon Tong Station, then transfer Tsuen Wan Line(Red Line)bound for Hongkong Island at Prince Edward Station or Mong Kok Station, take another 3 stops(from Prince Edward)or 2 stops(from Mong Kok Station) and finally you will arrive at your destination-Jordan Station.
It takes an hour from Shenzhen to Jordan station exclude the time for customs.
20min to an hour for passing through Luohu Customs but you may find express pass in the hall by paying RMB10-20 and it takes maximum 20 min only.
