We will be traveling from Avignon to Nimes, is it possible to see the Pont du gard from the train? Does it make a difference if it is a TGV train or the regional? Thank you for any information.

TGV and normal trains run on different tracks to just outside Nimes.

I'm fairly certain neither route has views of Pont du Gard.

We took the TGV from the Gare de Lyon in Paris to Nice last week, and a few minutes after we passed the signpost for Orange and just before we stopped at Avignon, we saw the Pont for about 3 seconds out the west window of the train. I don't know if the train from Avignon to Nimes will give you a view or not, but if you are coming from north of Avignon, you should see it. (The TGV splits at Avignon, and we took the east line. You would be going on the west line.)
