I know u prob get asked this question a million and one times but i really hope u can give me an answer. How long of a walk is it from the train station in lourdes to the actual grotto, sanctuary itself!i plan on arriving there at 12 and going back to Toulouse at six...is that enough time to see the grounds or should i take a later train?????

There are three taxi services and a city bus. All the information for them is on the following web site. You can cut and paste it into your address window.
http://www.lourdes-infotourisme.com/uk/Access_Maps The official lourdes web site is http://www.lourdes-infotourisme.com/uk The Lourdes station is set up for visitors since they have millions every year. Having been to Lourdes, I would suggest taking an earlier train from Tousouse if you can because there is so much to see and do at the Grotto. It is just an amazing experience. Oddly, since there are so many people, it is a very peaceful place too. Enjoy your trip.

10-15 mins.
Lourdes is a tiny town...everywhere is well within walking distance.

Lourdes might not seem so tiny if the poster was not in great shape. Many ill and/or disabled people visit Lourdes. Our motel, for instance, was up a rather steep hill on the far edge of town. We walk a lot and I was happy to have a car.
If they are taking the train and staying in city center, they'll be fine.
