| Gilgit | seeking advice for hotel accommodation Posted: Fri January 19, 2007 09:29 AM UTC
My husband and I are planning on visiting Gilgit for a few days in Jan. We are wondering if you can recommend a clean, warm hotel for five days stay. Also, any advice on day trips, things to do, etc, will be greatly appreciated. My husband is somewhat familiar with the town of Gilgit. He lived and worked there on a student assignment ten years back. I am sure much has changed since then. Your updated information will be really helpful and we will be much obliged for it.
Thank you |

Two well know hotels in Gilgit are PTDC and Serena. Plus there are a lot of other accomodations avaiable.
There are a lot to do depending on your taste: from Gilgit: Naltar Valley, Shandur Pass; Hunza all the way to Khunjerab. I would suggest get Footprint Pakistan's KKH handbook which will provide you with a lot of info about this region, and visit other VTer's pages; see link below: http://www.virtualtourist.com/travel/Asia/Pakistan

Bonsoir mes amis,
If you're looking for expensive and nice places then I'd recomend to go to Riveria hotel Chinar bagh, Gilgit. ph: 05811 54184 Mid range Park Hotel Airport Road Budget Tourist Cottage Chinar bagh Medina hotel Close to NLI chowk. Karimabad, Passu, (Hunza) freezing these days, even Gilgit so you can go and enjoy the snowy weather conditions, on the other hand, it's not the time to go to Naltar or Shandoor pass 3127 m, because it's closed due to excessive snow. I wish you all the best in Pakistan. http://risingpakistan.blog.co.uk/
