I will be visiting Angkor Wat Feb 12-15, 2007. Do I need to take malaria pills? My doctor was insisting I take them.

I was at Ankor 5 weeks ago. There was not much mozzie activity.
I do not take malaria tablets but the people i was travelling with did. I had a bad reaction to Larium when in Africa in 1995 so i don't take malaria tablets any more

My opinion only; I'm no doctor: I have never bothered with these pills in over a dozen trips to SE Asia, some including Taman Negara, Borneo, and Angkor Wat. I would only bother if I were going to trek or camp through jungle, or perhaps swim in fresh water. I never caught malaria.
