Hi all

We are going Ski-ing in Geilo on 4th Feb for a week. First time in Norway. A couple of us are beginners although my wife and I are experienced skiers. A couple of questions:

1. Are there plenty of ATMs in the town where I can withdraw Krone using my Visa card?
2. What is cost of beginners' ski lessons?
3. Ballpark figure for cost of lift pass?

Any other info would be gratefully received. We are looking forward to the trip immensely.

Not sure how many ATM's you need? Geilo is just a village :-)
But you will find a great one right outside the tourist info in the centre. That's the only one they had when I lived there, but I think there might be a new one too somewhere. You can also withdraw cash in the supermarkets if you buy something too. Your visa will also be valid everywhere.

Many thanks David. I guess one working ATM will do ;) It is just that I have recently had a holiday in Egypt and half the ATMs didn't work. Didn't want to find a place with only one in village and it was broken.

Aha! I have news! Standing in front of the tourist office, and about 200 meters to the left, you will find a bank with the second ATM

Yea, it looked bad before christmas with very little snow. But now it should be just perfect!
