Angkor Wat Travel Forum

Hi there, i am a young scottish girl, and my friend and i are travelling round south east asia in march/april. Just looking for some pointers!
1. is cambodia very dangerous to travel in? is it worth joining an organised tour group?
2. we are looking to fly from cambodia to Laos...does anyone know of any cheap airlines? and is it worth booking here or just when we get there?.
3. Is it going to be very hot at this time of year?

Hi there!

1. Cambodia is quite dangerous comparing to Laos and Thailand. But don't be paranoid, just be steady with a lil' extra precaution and you'll be just fine. + Watch out for pick-pockets (kids mostly) and dress properly, Tees and jeans will do it.
2. Check out www.laoairlines.com for cheapest flights, book it as soon as you get there.
3. March/April is in the middle summer, and hell yeah!! it's freakin' hot around here!!

well, if you headed to Angkor Wat in Siem Reap and P.Phen..then just stay on the beaten track..and you will be fine. Avoid travelling at night..in remote areas.

cambodia - laos then laos to thailand! Should be fun, but dont think we are prepared for the heat...its about 2degrees here and raining!!

If your on that route you'll get a chance to slowly get used to the heat, Hanoi at that time of year is normally cold, that said not as cold as Scotland.
