| Kunming | price of Cds? Posted: Sun January 14, 2007 11:56 PM UTC
What are the prices of original CDs in music stores?
I have bought what I believe to be an original CD with the hologram, a 2 CD compilation album of western music at the price of only 17 yuan. if the price of original Cds are that low, what is the price of pirated CDs and DVDs? |

Hi,
Regarding your query about whether the double CD set is genuine, personally I think they are pirated goods. It's quite difficult to tell between the genuine and pirated goods as the latter are now so well done. Personally I prefer not to find out so long as I'm happy with what I've bought. I think it's now more difficult to buy genuine goods than pirated ones. And don't be conned by the high price of the goods - to equate high price as genuine goods!!! Be happy with what you've bought, Tien

original one usually should cost 20rmb or more, you can get them easily at renowned shops, supermarket chains.

Off the street they can usually be bought for between 5-10rmb. So, yes, those ones in the shop are no more real than the ones on the street..but they are better presented and being in a shop means the price goes up. But as someone else mentioned, the chinese are great at faking everything, so just because its in a shop, doesnt mean its real! I buy all my dvds from a shop soley so i can take them back if theres a problem with them. Buying from a guy in the street gives you no security at all!

Another possibility is that those CDs are "for China only", that's why they're still legal but a lot cheaper.
