Toulouse Apart City Hippodrome hotel
Posted: Wed January 10, 2007 09:48 PM UTC
Hello,

I have booked 2 weeks at this hotel in April since it has a kitchenette and accept pets - I am relocating in the region and looking for permanent housing /visiting during that time - My questions are:

1) Is the hotel/neighborood safe? - It seems out of the way, are there local stores to get food? I will be on foot and taking public transportation to the city as well.

2) If not the best choice,(I can still cancel without penalties) - Can someone recommend something better in town perhaps (needs to have kitchenette and pet friendly). Any help would be greatly apreciated. Does anyone has a better recommendation. Thank you.

Hi there
It depends what you will be doing - if you're spending most of you're time in the centre it's a bit out of the way.

Not sure about pets, but you could try the residence St Exupery (http://www.hotel-exupery.com/). It's off rue de Bayard on the edges of teh red light area, but rue de bayard is OK as usually there are a lot of people about all times of tehday and night - I stayed there before Christmas with no problems - the apartment I had was great. There's also appartvalley (www.appartvalley.com) which is better than the hippodrome location wise - but try ebookers etc as well as their own site as you might get a better rate.

Other than that, if you have time search teh internet for private rentals - homelidays have some, but just spend some time searching the net.

dunno if you have moved to toulouse yet,if not i wouldnt reccomend the apartments you are planning staying in.they are in a quite isolated part of town, with about 20 minute walk to the scary metro station. you can get appartments near the city centre for the same price. try residence concorde at the train station.good rates and good location
